Beer Trip: Wire Road Brewing Company in Battlefield, Missouri
We’ve traveled the country and have been to hundreds of breweries, so it’s hard for us to be blown away when visiting a new one - but wow! Wire Road Brewing Company is truly an impressive place. What originated as a pit stop on our way to Arkansas ended up being one of our most memorable stops of 2025 thus far.

The Brewery
Wire Road sits inside a brand new building that was constructed just for this purpose. The inside has a modern feel with sealed concrete floors, white walls, and plentiful natural light. They have a 10-person bar along the back, and the brewing equipment is visible off to one side via large glass windows.

While the indoor space is nice, it’s their outdoor area that makes this place one to remember. Directly behind the building is a covered patio, complete with an L-shaped bar and about a dozen tables and chairs. Beyond this space, the place opens up to a massive mulch lot with tons of trees, picnic tables, wooden bridges for elevation changes, and even a small waterfall feature.

This place was perfect to let our 2-year-old run around and keep himself occupied. This beer garden rivals that of anywhere we’ve ventured! Up near the building, they even have an elevated stage where they host music on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the warmer months. If all of this isn’t enough, there’s another separate area equally as large as their beer lot with its own bar and stage. This area can be opened up to host multiple live events, as well as be reserved for private parties.

The Beer
With so much thought being put into the brewery itself, it was nice to discover that their beer quality didn’t suffer a bit. They maintain 19 different brews on tap at all times, with about 5 of those being their flagship offerings. Their brewer utilizes a lot of fruits and vegetables in their beer compared to most places, with cherries, blueberries, tangerines, raspberries, and peppers used in various recipes during our visit. This was much to our liking, as we are always fans of fruited options - but they also had IPAs, a brown, blonde, pilsner, and barrel-aged brews on the menu too.
While we weren’t able to try everything on the menu, there were a few that really stood out - the first being a seasonal called Berry the Hatchet. This cream ale provided a nice, fruity blueberry taste with maybe just a hint of lactose to give it a really smooth flavor profile. Spirit Horse is their flagship IPA, brewed New England style. This one has more haze than most and gives off a grapefruit taste. The final one of note is their red lager called Foreman. This beer had great caramel malty notes (as a good red should have), and was on the sweeter side. It’s not one to drink all day, but one hit the spot just right.
Food, Merch, & More
In addition to being a brewery, Wire Road is a coffee shop on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. This place is a haven for food trucks, as they have their own truck during their coffee hours, and then they always have one for lunch and dinner that they rotate. During our visit, we tried Whatever You Want, which featured some solid Asian-style burritos. While we recommend the beer, you can also get wine, wine slushies, or sodas at Wire Road.

Their merchandise selection is robust for a brewery of this size, featuring tons of hats, shirts, polos, and blankets. They also had some one-of-a-kind boutique-style clothing items for women, which were the first we’d seen like this at a brewery. In classic fashion, Morgan walked away with a new hat. They also had a cooler with many of their beer choices available via growler.
