The Brewery

Any brewery where a dog gets a seat at the bar is a brewery that gets our seal of approval!

This brewery is located in an industrial neighborhood and would be quite difficult to find if you weren’t intentionally looking for it (once Google Maps gets you there, drive all the way to the end at the parking lot).

Most of the space at Limitless is inside; however, on a warm day they sometimes have live music out front and large gatherings of regulars sitting outside with their own lawn chairs. (We’ve heard through the grapevine that Limitless is in the process of relocating and getting their own patio, too!) On another visit to Limitless, a group of people all sat together at their community-style table playing guitar together!

Where many breweries are dog-friendly, Limitless takes it to a new level as we witnessed dogs with their own seat at the bar. Inside you’ll find roughly 8 wooden tables along with a 10-person bar. Occasionally the quarters feels a bit tight, but it also makes it fun to mingle with other beer lovers.

The Beer

Typically a well-trafficked spot!

Listed on church-like display boards behind the bar, Limitless offers nearly a dozen different beers on tap. Roughly a third of these are a variation of an IPA, while the others range from stouts, lagers, and a couple of fruit or cream ales. Having visited multiple times, they continually provide new offerings while also bringing back favorites from time to time.

Limitless provides some truly unique offerings with their fruit and cream beers. On the most recent trip, they had the House of the Rising Sun Cream Ale. While it didn’t have our desired rich, creamy taste, it did have the perfect amount of fruity flavor. It was said that this beer was inspired by a Hurricane cocktail and, based on its red color, one could easily see the resemblance. With New Orleans being one of our favorite vacation destinations, we knew we had to give this one a try.

With multiple IPAs on tap, we found them to be a bit hit-or-miss depending on your liking. While not our favorite, the Metro Haze was fairly hoppy with a grassy aftertaste and would definitely be appreciated by the right person. By far the most well-known beer Limitless offers is the JoCo Juice (perfect for its Johnson County roots). This IPA has a perfect hazy profile and a nice citrus flavor - it’s definitely worth the try if they have it on tap.

Food, Merch, & More

Onsite merchandise selection

While not abundant, the merchandise at Limitless ranges from shirts, hats, bandanas, and neat tumblers. If merch isn’t your thing, Limitless cans a variety of their beer selections to-go. They also have a good selection of chips and snacks that seem to pair nicely with craft beer. Limitless offers a variety of events onsite, including trivia and live music that draw large local crowds.

Limitless Brewing has definitely made a name for itself in the Kansas City brewery scene and is worth a visit to the suburbs to check out.

Cheers!
