Beer Trip: Skydance Brewing Co. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
With our children and dog in tow for our Oklahoma City trip, we had to be somewhat selective on which breweries we visited. Luckily for us, Skydance Brewing Company had the perfect space to accommodate both, as well as an extensive beer list. This Native American-owned brewery made for the perfect afternoon pit stop!

The Brewery
Bar area
Skydance is located just outside of downtown in a bustling restaurant and bar area. This made parking a bit challenging, showing up right around happy hour, but we still managed to snag a spot across the street. The place is quite large, featuring 3 areas that all blend together seamlessly via overhead doors. The first section includes the bar and indoor seating, along with a small upstairs room known as the “Eagle’s Nest” overlooking the brewing operation. The next section is the awesome gravel patio, complete with an assortment of table seating, couches, and fire pits. The entire area is covered via an array of solar panels. We brought our pup, Barley, with us, and she was able to enjoy countless pettings as people walked by. The third portion actually appeared to be an event space, but it also featured a bar and opened up to the patio when in use.

The Beer
If hoppy beers are up your alley, then Skydance is the place for you, with 13 different pale ales and IPAs on the menu during our visit. With 19 total brews, a lager, pilsner, amber, brown, sour, and stout helped to round out the offerings. The beertenders informed us that they maintain 3 flagships, rotate a few seasonals in and out, and then swap out the remaining taps as the kegs run dry. With so many options, one could easily get something new each time you stop in.
With Morgan not being an IPA fan, this stop wasn’t exactly to her liking, which only meant that Chris had to make up for it by trying a few extras. One of note was the Lighthorse. This pale ale was very juicy and faintly tropical, making it a good easy-drinker on a warm day. Another top selection was the Polka Polka Imperial IPA. This one was enjoyable and didn’t feature the typical imperial taste at all, instead being more tropical. This was a unique twist on a style that we don’t typically enjoy! Perhaps the best beer of the trip, though, was their Fance Dance. This brew is their flagship New England IPA and is very juicy with a nice blend of orange mixed in.

Food, Merch, & More
Merch for days
You can come hungry here, as Skydance has a full kitchen with a menu of appetizers, flatbreads, and sandwiches. We elected to go with the chicken nachos, which were a full meal in their own right. Up near the bar is their merchandise section, which includes t-shirts, hats, glassware, coozies, and some one-of-a-kind denim pieces. They also had a wide variety of their beers available in 6-packs, which we took full advantage of on our way out the door.
The chicken nachos were delicious!
Skydance was the perfect place to park ourselves for the afternoon. We were able to spread out with the dog and kiddos on the patio, get our fill of nachos, and take down a few beers. This place seems set up to be a beer-lover’s destination for years to come.
Cheers!
