Beer Trip: Wild Acre Restaurant & Beer Garden in Fort Worth, Texas

They always say that everything is bigger in Texas, and their breweries are no exception! Across the board, the facilities we visited rivaled those of anywhere else in the country. Wild Acre in Fort Worth was the largest place we enjoyed, and with its robust beer list and ample amenities, it made for quite the adventure.

The Brewery

Wild Acre is the first brewery we’ve ever visited and we weren’t sure if the kids or the parents would be more excited to experience it. They occupy a large metal building with lots of seating, but the crown jewel of the place is their massive outdoor space which is one of the largest we’ve seen in our brewery travels. They have multiple areas, loosely divided, with a kids’ playground, a surface trampoline, and even an entire pedal cart track! This brewery was on another level when it came to keeping the family entertained.

During the heat of summer, the entire outdoor space is packed full of misters to keep you cool. Both inside and outside featured lots of TVs, making it the perfect spot to catch a game with your whole family. They also happen to share a gated lot with Silver Star Spirits, which often hosts live music on the nearby outdoor stage.

The Beer

There is no shortage of beer at Wild Acre, with a whopping 23 selections to choose from. Their standard menu consists of 6 - 7 flagships and they rotate the rest to keep the tap board constantly changing. We aren’t sure if they only have one brewer or several, but their beer styles varied just as much as their number of selections did. During our visit, they had multiple IPAs, sours, wheats, and blondes, along with a stout, Vienna lager, and of course the Texas staple - a bock.

With so many options, we weren’t able to try a lot, but we both opted for flights to broaden our taste buds. One of our favorites was their flagship brew, the Sundance Wheat. This was a light wheat with a strong citrus flavor, which would be perfect for a hot summer day. The other brew that really stood out was the Pistolas Mexican Lager, which so happened to be served with a lime. If we had known we would like this one so much, we would have opted for a full pour which comes with the rim of the glass lined with tajin.

Food, Merch, & More

In addition to being a brewery, Wild Acre has a full kitchen serving up a wide range of burgers along with sides consisting of fries, fried pickles, mac & cheese, and pretzel sticks. We weren’t able to try anything on our stop, but it all sounded delicious.

Their merch selection was rather robust and featured multiple hats, shirts, glasses, and even some large woven throw blankets. The one negative for us was that they were out of most of their stickers - but they made up for this with a nice selection of to-go beer, including a couple of different variety packs.

The atmosphere alone is enough to make this place a must-stop for the Fort Worth area, especially if you have little ones that need entertaining. Combine this with great beer and be prepared for an experience that you’ll think back on for years to come.

Cheers!

Chris & Morgan
